2. What is the difference between the Internet and the World Wide Web?
→ The difference is that the internet is a massive network of networks that connects millions of computers together as long as those computers are connected to the internet. The World Wide Web is a way of accessing information using the internet. The WWW uses HTTP to transmit data, it also utilizes browsers like internet explorer to access Web Pages.
HTML- means hyper text markup language, they are the basic building blocks of webpages.
WEB BROWSER- An application for getting and presenting information in the internet.
PROTOCOL- a strict set of rules that apply a community.
GOOGLE BOTS- When you search the web you are not searching the web, you are searching an index of Google, which works like a a copy of the web. Spiders start with only a few web pages, then they follow the links that those web pages point to, and they follow the links that those web pages point to and soon they have a big chunk of the web. To decide which page works better for you, Google has over 200 terms; 1. How many times does this webpage contain your search terms? 2. Do the words appear in the title or the URL? 3 Does the word appear directly under the title? 4. Does it include synonyms for those words? 5. Is it a low quality website or high quality website (depends on the links pointing to that website and the importance of those links.)? They don't accept money so that the page appears first in the search results or so that they update it more often. They combine all these terms and thats when they decide the rank in which your page appears. In the search results each entry has a title, the URL and a brief description. Along the right and on the top we see ads. Google does something called crawling, crawling is done by googlebots often named spiders. When you search the googlebots crawl and try to choose the results they believe are the most relevant to the user. Relevancy is determines over 200 factors one of them which is the most important is page rank. Each link to a page on your site from another site adds to your site's PageRank. In order for your site to rank well you must make sure Google can crawl your site well and index it. It also uses keyword density that means that your phrase or word appears many times on certain page, the more the density the better, if less density it wont appear in top search results.
PAGE RANK- Page Rank: Is the rank that your page receives; this rank determines where your page will appear on a search result. This rank is determined by the number of links other pages have that are pointing to your page.
ADSENSE- system of publicty designes by google.
ADD WORDS- place where you advertise in google.
